Bill Gates and his Ipod?

By Kim Hastreiter

Someone just came in to meet with me and turned me on to this most amazing artist, Alison Jackson. She photographs famous lookalikes (dead and alive) in completely twisted compromising positions. I died when i saw these. You can see more of her work at her Los Angeles gallery, M+B's site. Carlo McCormick here at PAPER told me that Jackson is fairly famous in the UK but has not yet become so well known here in US. Here are a few images. Go look at this stuff. Pictured above is Bill Gates listening to his iPod and below, check out Bush doing a Rubik's Cube and the Queen on the throne. She also has a book out by Taschen called Confidential. I immediately bought one here.

Today's Music-Related Tidbits: Moby Spins, Feist Sells

By Gari Pini

mobyBack in the day, one could find Moby DJ-ing in downtown clubs like the Big Haus and he always played a little reggae, a little punk and a little whatever. On October 11, the man will be back behind the turntables DJ-ing and hosting a new club night called "Degenerates" at the Hiro Ballroom. Also spinning: Stretch Armstrong. Meanwhile, around the corner on 17th Street, the other half of the building with porthole windows that isn't already a hotel (Maritime) is going to become one. Hampshire Hotels just bought 346 West 17th for $70 million. Unrelated but cool: Thanks to iPod and no thanks to radio, Feist's album The Reminder sold 28,000 copies last week and moves from #36 to #28 in the Billboard charts.
