About Last Night... The Rogan for Target Private Shopping Party at Barneys
By Alexis Swerdloff

Last night I headed uptown to Barneys for a private Rogan for Target shopping event (the collection is unveiled to the public today.) It was madness as fashion girls (we spotted Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl and Angela from Project Runway amid a slew of editors and stylists) clawed their way through he racks, grabbing up all the size smalls leaving many a sad L and XL for the disappointed latecomers. I purchased two items, a simple, summery white and gray blouse and this here leopard print dress (which I wasn’t going to get -- not so much my style -- until one girl in the dressing room insisted I buy it). I later saw Julie Gilhart sporting the number while chatting with Simon Doonan and Rogan Gregory and felt better about my purchase. I have to say, I had my initial doubts about the collection, but up close and in person, I think this is one of the best Target designer collabs yet!

Eight Items or Less: Pink Floyd's Pig Was Found, Sebastian Horsley Is Allowed in U.S. and Rogan for Target Heads to Barneys
By Gary Pini

1. Pink Floyd's pig was found (deflated) in the California desert. The band's famous inflatable stage prop accidentally drifted away during their Coachella performance over the weekend. A La Quinta resident found a "big pile of shredded plastic" in his driveway early Monday morning and will receive a $10,000 reward from the festivals organizers. (via Yahoo)
2. British author/artist Sebastian Horsley is set to appear tonight and Saturday at two PEN World Voices events in New York City. Horsley was denied entry into the U.S. in March for "moral turpitude." UPDATE: We have received word from PEN that "Mr. Horsley was unable to attend this year and will not be appearing."
3. Spank Rock "experienced a sudden ailment" and was unable to perform at Coachella. After emergency surgery, he remains hospitalized in California and won't be appearing at Studio B on Friday.
4. Target is introducing a line of eco-friendly clothing designed by Rogan Gregory but the line will first be available only at Barneys New York. (Photo at right from the collection)
5. Twelve bottles of cream soda personalized with your photo for $29.99 (+ shipping) available here. (via WSJ)
6. Last year NOKIA sold 146 million cell phones.

More Collectors Items!
By Kim Hastreiter

I know, I know, I always talk about collectors items, but so often there is stuff (whether clothing accessories, furnishings, etc.) that I wish I would have bought when a designer I adore goes to a company and then they're gone! Especially designers who are smart, avant garde and do stints at companies that produce their ideas flawlessly. That's when I always think, "Damn, I shoulda bought this, or, why didn't I buy that?" When great stuff is available we tend to take it for granted -- until it's gone!.
Take Margiela at Hermes. I mean that was HISTORICAL! His amazing coats, watches and accessories... WHY DIDN'T I GET ANY OF THIS STUFF. This will be in museums someday. Or what about Isabel Toledo at Anne Klein??? They had a huge sale of her stuff (check out the cool plaid photo) and now I regret I didn't stock up. Now another really interesting designer Tess Giberson is leaving Tse Cashmere where she has designed super cool stuff for the past few years. The stuff she did for Tse is really good. So grab it while you can. (See style.com photo above from her spring show.) Even Isaac Mizrahi's stuff at Target will be collectible someday. A lot of stuff at Target is collectible I think. A lot of those designer collections are so fun, from Erin Featherston to Libertine. I love all that stuff. And now it's gone.
And let's not even talk about how much I want one of the Richard Prince Louis Vuitton bags. You can't even just go and buy one, you have to put your name on a waiting list!

Mizrahi Goes Claiborne
By Kim Hastreiter
My old friend Isaac Mizrahi announced yesterday that he is going to become the creative director of the sleepy brand Liz Claiborne... a company that seems to be in the process of reinventing itself with its recent purchases of Narciso Rodriguez and Kate Spade. I think Isaac makes perfect sense for this brand. That is, of course, if they let him do what he's good at. If they do, Liz Claiborne can actually get back on the fashion map! (was it ever even there?) I actually think Isaac would also be great as creative director of Kate Spade, as his aesthetic, humor and intelligence really mirrors that of the Spades. He would do such a brilliant job!!!!! I'm sad Mizrahi won't be doing his fab stuff for Target anymore though. I'd advise everyone to buy as much as they can this season (I just saw the lookbook and its fabulous!) as it will all become collectible. Plus we should all stock up on his Target home stuff because you'll never see this again! (I already bought two entire sets of his fruit dishes, bowls plates, cups, butterfly and lily sheets etc. on Target.com )

Luella Bartley Rocks as Always
By Mickey Boardman

Mr. Mickey was DEVASTATED that Luella Bartley didn't show in NYC this past Fashion Week. The UK native went back to London and gave her usual super-cool, super-cute show. Honestly, how adorable are these little dresses? Mr. Mickey wishes he was a punky little 14-year-old girl so he could wear these dresses to school dances, get high in the bathroom and make out inappopriately with male teaching staff members!!!! Too bad we're only young once! Mr. Mickey has a bunch of accessories that Luella did for Target and they rock. Although the tote bag covered with cherries is a challenge for Mr. Mickey. Even though MM is a clown, there's something so attention-grabbing about the cherries bag. Or maybe it's just too young lady for a granny like Mr. Micks!

Frisco Day Four
By Kim Hastreiter

Whew. I'm writing this quickly as I'm heading to the airport soon, but yesterday was another fantabulous jam-packed day. We started out at 9 .m. meeting our crew for the day (filmmaker Cheryl Dunn, my friends from Target -- Minda, John and Paul -- and of course, our tour guide Ben Ospital from MAC) at this amazing little spot in the Ferry Building called Boulettes Larder for breakfast (see photo at top left).
We were greeted by Boulette, a Puli dog, owned by BL's two wonderful proprietors, Amarylis and Laurie, who sat us in their amazing hearth/kitchen and cooked us an incredible breakfast as we stared out the window at the ferries and the Oakland Bridge.
We then hopped in a car and headed over the GG Bridge to Sausalito where we met Kathy and Robin Baily, who own the incredible Heath Ceramics, an amazing 1940s sun-filled ceramics factory. They produce dishes for restaurants such as Alice Waters's Chez Panisse and Slanted Door and fab shops like Moss. They are also famous for their awesome tiles, which you may recognize if you've ever eaten at the restaurant Hiro in the Maritime Hotel. They're gorgeous. The designs were all done by Edith Heath in the '40s and Robin and Kathy (who bought the factory from Heath four years ago) have respectfully and meticulously continued the tradition of manufacturing and design that she started. I love this stuff and actually own a whole gorgeous set of Heath at home that I eat off of every day. After an amazing tour, where we saw the tiles and dishes (see photo, above right) made, fired and glazed by workers (many of whom had been there for over 30 years), we went crazy shopping, of course.

Libertine Does Target!
By Kim Hastreiter
We're so excited to hear that Target has teamed up with our favorite artist kids from Libertine!! (see photo) We've always loved the artists Johnson and Cindy who team up to do this line and their pop-goth-rocker sensibility. Ya gotta hand it to Target, they are out there grooving with the most fun designers lately... I wonder how Libertine'll translate into Target stores!! I bet if they did rocker tees they'd sell like crazy. Speaking of Target, they did a stealth hit on Paris this month with a little pop-up section for Proenza Schouler at the Colette shop and put on a little street theater show with a bunch of their bull terriers with red targets painted on their eyes. The French have Tati... will they someday have Tar-jay??
