Footwear Report: Hussein Chalayan's Chenille Ankle Boot
By Mickey Boardman

Fabulous footwear is the foundation upon which every modern gay and girl builds her wardrobe and how cute are this chenille ankle boots from Hussein Chalayan? Isn't an ankle boot a wonderful AND horrible thing? When it's good, it's great but when it's bad it's poo-poo stink! Unlike sex and pizza, in which case, when it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

The Shopping Bug: Spring Wedges & Summer Sandals
By Carol Lee

Although it doesn't feel anything close to balmy, technically it is spring and around this time of the year I always start thinking about shoes that you wear sans socks. I've been doing some research (that means eye-shopping and no actual buying) on spring fling shoes at Jeffrey, Miu Miu, Intermix (secretly every girl I know checks out Intermix) and online department stores.
The three big things I saw everywhere and by every designer for spring/summer are patent leather, peep toes and ankle straps. I'm really feeling the shiny leather look since everything I love ends up being patent. Peep toes I'm not too crazy about but they can work as both casual and dressy, and they give your toes some ventilation. But I really don't care for ankle straps. I think they are uncomfortable (like they're going to cut off your blood circulation any sec) and they are hard to pull off no matter how leggy you might be.

Dinner for Blake Mycoskie, Founder of Tom's Shoes
By Mickey Boardman

Mr. Mickey was invited to a cute dinner last week for Tom's Shoes designer Blake Mycoskie who, in addition to being yummy to look at, is an inspiring entrepreneur and new school philanthropist! For each pair of shoes sold, a pair is donated to a shoeless child in some developing part of the world (Argentina seems to be where the whole thing started). The shoes are only $38 (more for special collaborations) ,which is a steal! MM insists you log onto Tom's website and buy yourself some shoes. MM wears his around the house with Rick Owens shorts and a Lacoste top. That's MM's lounging look.
Anyhoo, here's a shot of Blake at the dinner with second generation glamour puss Alessandra Balazs and a darling girl who's name Mr. Mickey sadly does not know! Mr. Mickey is quite the professional journalist isn't he?
