More Collectors Items!

By Kim Hastreiter

tess.jpgtoledo

I know, I know, I always talk about collectors items, but so often there is stuff (whether clothing accessories, furnishings, etc.) that I wish I would have bought when a designer I adore goes to a company and then they're gone! Especially designers who are smart, avant garde and do stints at companies that produce their ideas flawlessly. That's when I always think, "Damn, I shoulda bought this, or, why didn't I buy that?" When great stuff is available we tend to take it for granted -- until it's gone!.

Take Margiela at Hermes. I mean that was HISTORICAL! His amazing coats, watches and accessories... WHY DIDN'T I GET ANY OF THIS STUFF. This will be in museums someday. Or what about Isabel Toledo at Anne Klein??? They had a huge sale of her stuff (check out the cool plaid photo) and now I regret I didn't stock up. Now another really interesting designer Tess Giberson is leaving Tse Cashmere where she has designed super cool stuff for the past few years. The stuff she did for Tse is really good. So grab it while you can. (See style.com photo above from her spring show.) Even Isaac Mizrahi's stuff at Target will be collectible someday. A lot of stuff at Target is collectible I think. A lot of those designer collections are so fun, from Erin Featherston to Libertine. I love all that stuff. And now it's gone.

And let's not even talk about how much I want one of the Richard Prince Louis Vuitton bags. You can't even just go and buy one, you have to put your name on a waiting list!

Cute Couples of Fashion Week: Thom Browne and Libertine's Johnson Hartig

By Mickey Boardman

Thom Browne & Johnson Hartig

How's this for a sexy yin & yang couple? Here is fashion designer Thom Browne, who's out-there show created some confusion and negative reviews this week, but is really New York's most fabulous menswear designer, at the Levi's show with Libertine's adorable Johnson Hartig, another fabulous designer! What do these two have in common? Both have been featured in PAPER's Beautiful People issue!

Mr. Mickey on the Fashion Party Train!!!

By Mickey Boardman

Whew! Mr Mickey is still recovering from Wednesday night's mad spree of shindigs. MM started out at a little shindig for the designers Libertine who have a fun project coming out this summer (more on that when the time comes!). Then it was off to Saks for a party for the gorgeous and chic Rachel Roy. Check out the shot of her with fellow stunner Iman. Honestly, MM j'adores Rachel's look toujours! MM was in such a fashion state that he snuck up to the semi-recently renovated and fabulous men's floor at Saks and bought a new spring jacket by Mr. Michael Kors!! And it was beige without a sequin on it!
Saks was where all glamour girls and boys were: Peter Davis, Jackie Astier, Damon Dash, Saks' mustachioed Michael Fink.

Then it was onto the sumptuous Versace mansion/Boutique for a Save Venice party cohosted by Vogue. Tinsley Mortimer, Byrdie Bell, Ivanka Trump, Hana Soukupova and a cavalcade of cuties packed the place. The star standout was Luigi Tadini, who is without a doubt, the most delicious dreamboat in New York or Sao Paolo!!!

Finally we shook our tired fashion tuchases up to Bergdorf's for a Proenza Schouler soiree hosted by PAPER's favorite cover star Chloe Sevigny. The store looks great and Roopal Patel and Linda Fargo are always chic and sexy! Kai Kuhne was creating some drama with Christian Laliberte, socialiterank.com's least favorite boy about town. It was an uptown downtown mix of Ben Cho, Eugenia Silva, Fabiola Beracasa, Lauren Davis and Helen Schifter. Fashion is a lot of work sportsfans!!!

Libertine Does Target!

By Kim Hastreiter

libertine.jpgWe're so excited to hear that Target has teamed up with our favorite artist kids from Libertine!! (see photo) We've always loved the artists Johnson and Cindy who team up to do this line and their pop-goth-rocker sensibility. Ya gotta hand it to Target, they are out there grooving with the most fun designers lately... I wonder how Libertine'll translate into Target stores!! I bet if they did rocker tees they'd sell like crazy. Speaking of Target, they did a stealth hit on Paris this month with a little pop-up section for Proenza Schouler at the Colette shop and put on a little street theater show with a bunch of their bull terriers with red targets painted on their eyes. The French have Tati... will they someday have Tar-jay??
