JEANius!

By Kim Hastreiter

I hear through the grapevine that it was Levis who created that crazy video (anonymously) that's this weeks #1 smash on YouTube (just went over a million views) of the kids parkour-ing into their jeans. Really hysterical and amazing. There are 9,000 comments already on the video many of which suggest to the cute Jackass-y type boys jumping insanely from rooftops into their pants that they should go to a jeans company to sell their talents for big bucks. Well it turns out they got it backwards... Levis seems to have dreamt this up and went to them! So smart. Maybe the next sport at the Olympics? Check out the video.

Cute Couples of Fashion Week: Thom Browne and Libertine's Johnson Hartig

By Mickey Boardman

Thom Browne & Johnson Hartig

How's this for a sexy yin & yang couple? Here is fashion designer Thom Browne, who's out-there show created some confusion and negative reviews this week, but is really New York's most fabulous menswear designer, at the Levi's show with Libertine's adorable Johnson Hartig, another fabulous designer! What do these two have in common? Both have been featured in PAPER's Beautiful People issue!

Rufus Albermarle Plays Paparazzi with Allison Sarofim.

By Mickey Boardman

rufus albermarle & allison sarofim

How cute is this photo of two of the most glamorous New Yorkers we can think of? Rufus Albermarle, maybe the hunkiest man (and when we say man we mean MAN) in the Naked City snaps a photo Allison Sarofim, the sexiest and nicest social sensation.

They're outside the "Warhol Factory X Levi's By Damien Hirst" show. Allison is all up in the movie business these days with small but memorable parts in such diverse screen gems as Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe and its sequel which is now in production, The Nanny Diaries and the much-talked about star-studded independent film Lake City which costars heavy hitters Sissy Spacek, Rebecca Romijn, Troy Garity (who had a glamorous wedding in NYC a few weeks ago), Drea de Matteo (who's about to have a baby), Dave Matthews and Keith Carradine. Allison also co-produced. Now she's OUR kind of movie star!!

Levi's at Gagosian

By Kim Hastreiter

I was hanging out with my new friends, those cute guys from the band The Hours from the UK. They came to town with their great pal Damien Hirst who was here for the big fashion extravaganza held at the Gagosian Gallery last night with Levi's. It was really fun. I went with my old friend Nick Graham who came in town to see his dear friend Damien as well. A fashion show as well as an exhibit were held at Gagosian's Chelsea gallery and the stuff was really great. I was drooling over these diamond (fake) encrusted skulls that Levi's had hanging from everything and, you know it, I ordered one for myself.

The best were the one of a kind spin art jeans that Levi's made after Hirst gave them original painted canvas to cut up and sew. The show was fun. The runway was polka-dotted Hirst style and the walls were covered in spin art skull paintings. I saw Vincent Gallo there who I hadn't seen for quite a while. He looked great and seemed really happy. The two cuties from the Hours (especially this cute guy named ANT!) it turns out are big PAPER fans so that was cool. They performed at the Prada store also this week at a party they threw for Damien there. (Hirst is a friend of Miuccia of course!)

Art and Fashion Collabs Are Everywhere

By Kim Hastreiter

tom ford marilyn minter campaigncindy sherman for french vogue

Art is certainly ruling the fashion world these days. Marilyn Minter's new Tom Ford ad campaign is gorgeous (see photo at left) and Cindy Sherman's piece for Carine Roitfeld's French Vogue is outrageous (see photo at right). Levis is collaborating with Damien Hirst for a fall show. Where will it stop? I think Versace should collab with Kehinde Wiley -- wouldn't that be amazing? And oh yeah, Jeff Koons with Marc Jacobs. Just imagine how great that would be... (thanks by the way to WWD for the photos of Cindy Sherman)
