Hang on to Your GUCCI LOVES NY Bags!
By Kim Hastreiter

So I had dinner with Cory Kennedy and Cobrasnake the other night. They were in town on their way to Paris for the shows, stopping in NY to celebrate Cory's 18th birthday (shes finally legal). They were telling me that all the kids are selling their GUCCI LOVES NY bags on Ebay for giant profits now. I believe the bags are now sold out at the New York store (the only place they were available) and now all the Japaneses kids are coveting them. Cory, of course, was carrying hers (not selling it!), which she got for free at the opening party. It was so cute and I really regret not nabbing one! These are gonna be in the Met someday, you mark my word, as they are markers of a Gucci moment in time.

About Last Night... A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF at the U.N.
By Caroline Torem Craig

The Gucci-sponsored, Madonna-conceived event, “A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and Unicef,” was held in a tent (close to the size of Bryant Park) on the lawn of the United Nations last night. It was covered by a very exclusive pack of photogs and reporters, so we were pleased that PAPER was given the OK!
Judging by the sheer magnitude and pulchritude of the celebrities that walked the “black carpet,” just about everyone of Madonna’s friends invited showed up! There were no tattered jeans here. Some of the guests stood out for obvious reasons. Like Jennifer Lopez, who is ridiculously beautiful but oh my GOD, it looks she is carrying a team of Budweiser horses! Like Madonna, who has an iron will to keep doing whatever necessary to be a star and not a fizzling comet! Like Katie Holmes, who is beautiful and incredibly well put-together, but has the most unnerving stare! Like Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, who no longer seem like an odd couple! And like Gwyneth Paltrow, who thought it was a junior prom event or a baby-doll pajama pary…
As Kimora Lee Simmons, who clung tightly to her boyfriend Djimon Honsou, would say: “Fabulosity!”

We Said It First: Harvard Fashion Week!
By Marya Spence

As PAPERMAG’s occasional fashion correspondent, stationed in the faraway land of Cambridge, MA, I tend to twiddle my thumbs and count the passing tumbleweeds in anticipation of the next fashion-forward craze that might sweep this barren, collegiate land.
That’s why, when I heard wind of a fashion show and charity auction taking over town -- boasting Paris, New York, and Tokyo Fashion Week designer names like Issey Miyake, Garconshinois, Alexander Wang and Thuy -- I knew I had to throw out last season’s Harvard sweats, unplug my laptop from the library socket and hop-foot it over to the party! Beauty and vodka abounded at Project East. The music was a sexy, wrangling beat. Could this be the makings of Harvard Fashion Week???
The mastermind behind Project East is one spectacularly ambitious Harvard junior, who sports a daily bouffant, frequent eyeliner and general good-willed sauciness. A good friend of mine, Timothy Parent is known to many as Timmy, T.Danger or Timmyfab. Summer intern at The Gucci Group in New York and partyer at his favorite “gay dance den,” Mr. Black (alas, R.I.P.), Timmyfab planned Project East for a year and a half. Like all aspiring fashionistas, Timmy struts his stuff no matter where he is and from across the campus, I spy skinny jeans that could out-skinny Mary Kate, a pair of mocha Ferragamo slippers and a pout to rival Angelina’s.
